Dragonflies Living ancestors of dinosaurs in Baner Balewadi
Dragonflies are one of the first insect orders that conquered the aerial space around 300 million years ago. They have seen many different lifeforms come and go and survived even the extinction of dinosaurs. However, they have themselves gone through incredible changes and are now seen as today’s tiny helicopters, who are secretly voracious predators. Considered as good ecological indicators, dragonflies are messengers of anthropogenic climate change.
Come and find out what secrets these tiny choppers hold and how citizen science, such as driven by DragonflySouthAsia, is helping us uncover their secrets and appreciate them more. The talk will be given by Dr Pankaj Koparde – an evolutionary ecologist, TEDx speaker, and co-founder of DragonflySouthAsia.
