We are having some Language Themed Slams! This one will be a Marathi Language Slam. It is going to be a classical two-round slam format with the additional condition that the poems need to (mostly) be done in Marathi

We are expecting the competition to be tough and the poetry resulting out of it to be of the highest quality!

The Poetry Slam will consist of TWO ROUNDS with all participants competing in the first round with the top five going on the compete in the second round for the prizes.

Registration Charges-

To Participate in the slam (25 slots)

Rs. 250/- as registration fee (If you book in advance online convenience charges apply)

Rest seats will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis

Do read the slam rules and regulations carefully before participating.

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

1) Poems can be in Marathi only, they also need to be original and read/performed without props.

2) The time limit for the poems in the first round is 2 Minutes with a leeway of +10 Seconds.

3) Going above 2 minutes and 15 seconds in the first round leads to IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION, the poet has to stop and leave the mike then and there. (This is to respect the fact that there are multiple performances and many participants.)

4) Points will be given on the basis of writing (50%) and performance (50%)

5) There will be a 10% points penalty for NOT MEMORISING POEMS

6) The decision of the judges is final and binding.

7) The TOP FIVE on the basis of points (calculated after points deductions and penalties) will then qualify for the second round.

8) Second Round Poems will be judged on the same parameters as the first round. (Rule number- 4, 5 and 6 above)

9) The poems should be no longer than 4.5 minutes Going overtime leads to a 10% point penalty for every 15 seconds.

10) The winner and second runner-up of the slam will be judged based solely on the points gained in the second round.

11) The Winner will get to perform at the Prestigious Pune International Literary Festival!
